Our Story

Hewn & Holy began with a frustration I kept running into: I could never find the gift I was actually looking for.

Every time an occasion called for something that mattered — a baptism, a wedding, a milestone in someone's faith — I'd go searching and come home empty-handed. Store shelves and search results full of resin poured into molds, plastic painted to look like wood, objects made in minutes for moments meant to last a lifetime. Nothing made with real care. Nothing I'd be proud to give. Nothing I'd want displayed in my own home.

I came to believe the objects that hold our faith should be made the way faith itself is made: slowly, deliberately, with care.

So I went looking for makers who still begin with a single block of solid wood — never resin, never a mold. Hewn & Holy partners with a small workshop where every piece is carved with modern precision and then finished entirely by hand, by craftsmen whose skill has been passed down through generations. Every piece is carved to order: no molds, no resin, no two exactly alike. The grain of your piece has never existed before and will never exist again.

That's what "hewn" means — cut and shaped with effort. And "holy" — set apart for something greater. The name says exactly what we do.

Because each piece is carved when you order it, we ask for a little patience: two to three weeks, finished by hand and shipped with care. We think the wait is part of the gift.
